Corrie Foppes (1923) schrijft over haar neef Bert Pentermann:
Na het overlijden van zijn vader Emo, toen hij nog maar zes jaar oud was, is hij tot zijn 12e aan ons gezicht onttrokken geweest. Hij heeft daarna een aantal jaren bij ons in Meppel gewoond, is na zijn vertrek naar Groningen, studerend aan de Hogere Landbouwschool geheel uit het zicht verdwenen en daarin anno 1996 weer opgedoken.Tot ons genoegen. Zijn deelneming aan het Landbouwonderwijs in Groningen heeft hem een levensrelatie opgeleverd in de vorm van een medestudente: JANS DIETE DIJKSTRA * 31 / 7 / 1931 die zijn echtgenote werd.Het paar kreeg twee zonen:EMO JOHAN PENTERMANN, * 30 / 1958 en W ILLEM TIETE POPKE PENTERMANNN *14 / 10 / 1960.
De beide jongens hebben het “verderop” gezocht :Emo woont in Longmont ,Col. U.S.A. Willem, getrouwd, is manager in een van de grote hotels in Bankok, Thailand. Aardig is misschien nog te vermelden dat Bertus Pentermann twee zilveren kommen in zijn bezit heeft, die afkomstig zijn ,volgensde inscriptie van het echtpaar Lubbertus Patroclus Romelingh, (9 /8 / 1722----+11 / 8 / 1778) en Baugjen Oostingh,(30 / 12 / 1731---+10 / 1 / 1822). Een tweede gravering behelst de initialen van L.P.R. en T.W.M (Tietje Medendorp), onze over-overgrootvader dus. Daarna zijn de kommen overgegaan naar diens kleinzoon L.P. Pentermann, Sr. en vervolgens naar de volgende kleinzoon L.P.Pentermann Jr. Wat je noemt ,historische familiestukken: IN ERE HOUDEN ,dus !!!!! Tot zover de nazaten van Emo Pentermann en Jantina Helder.
