Notes about John Stuart Foppes

FOPPES, JOHN STUART John Stuart Foppes (born July 5, 1952) stepped from this life into eternity on January 24, 2013. He has left memories to be cherished by his wife, Angela Waites; three children, Rhiannon Dolinski, Ashley Scharbach and Nathan Waites; three grandchildren, Dominic Dolinski, Keinan Dolinski-Watson and Da'Nari Dolinski-Watson; his best friend, Donna Robertson; sisters Arlene Foppes Thompson(Ed) and Janet Foppes Carolin (Chuck); brothers Paul Foppes(Michelle) and Daniel Foppes. He was born in Illian, New York and grew up in Garden City Michigan. As a young man John hitch-hiked across the country, falling in love with the places he went and the people he met. He spent years in L.A. and Seattle, before finding himself at home in Birmingham, Alabama. He crafted worlds with his words, writing stories and poems which are a legacy to his family and will keep him close to us all of our days. He worked with his hands, building parts for airplanes, fixing anything that was broken, taking apart and putting back together anything which had an engine or parts and pieces. He built bird houses and searched for fossils and gems in the rocks. He loved dogs and always had one by his side or in his lap. He rubbed tired feet and took care of his family. He will be greatly missed by us all. Memorial service to be announced at a later date - See more at: http://obits.al.com/obituaries/birmingham/obituary.aspx?pid=162734622
