Op zondag 4 mei jl. vierden Tjitte en Feikje Verbeek - Hoekstra het heugelijke feit dat zij 60 jaar geleden in het huwelijksbootje stapten.

De trouwdag werd samen met hun kinderen en kleinkinderen gevierd in café -restaurant De Molen in Vrouwenparochie. De heer Verbeek is geboren op 2 augustus 1921 in de gemeente Ferwerderadiel. Mevrouw Verbeek werd in onze gemeente geboren op 24 maart 1922. Het echtpaar kreeg 5 kinderen waarvan er 2 in Stiens wonen. De viering van de trouwdag van de familie Verbeek was voor burgemeester Eric ter Keurs een goede aanleiding om die dag een bezoek te brengen aan Vrouwenparochie. Namens het gemeentebstuur bracht hij het echtpaar de felicitaties over. Uiteraard ging dit vergezeld van een mooi bos bloemen.
