Mr. Otte Verbeek, aged 88, of Grand Rapids, passed away Tuesday August 6, 2002, and went to be with his Lord. He was preceded in death by his wife, Freda;and three great-grandchildren, Abby and Samuel Verbeek and Emily Hauck. Surviving are his children, Ralph and Doris Verbeek, Theo and Alice Verbeek, Grace and Erwin Heyboer, Perry and Carol Verbeek, Renz and Jenith Verbeek, Pete and Terry Verbeek, Andy and Mary Jane Verbeek, Mary Ouwinga; 23 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; his sisters, Alice Haga of Grand Rapids, Fokje Merkus; his brother and sister-in-law, Tjette and Feikje Verbeek, and his sister-in-law, Imi Verbeek, all of the Netherlands; and several nieces and nephews in the Netherlands and in America. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at Westend Christian Reformed Church with Rev. Henry Admiraal officiating. Interment will be in Washington Park Memorial Gardens. Mr. Verbeek reposes at the funeral chapel where relatives and friends may meet his family Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. For those who wish, memorial contributions to The Christian Rest Home would be appreciated.
