B. Ten Koppel was onder meer tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog Groeps Commandant Kring Gelderland van het Nederlandsche Roode Kruis onder nummer R.12-010810. Op 3 juni 1950 is hem hiervoor het Herinneringskruis 1940-1945 uitgereikt te Velp.
Voor zijn stoffeerdersbedrijf heeft hij een houten werkplaats laten bouwen in zijn achteruin. Op 12 maart 1936 is door de Bouwvereniging Velp een bouwvergunning aangevraagd en verkregen voor het plaatsen van een houten gebouw (2508-01 (Ver-)bouwtekeningen en hinderwetvergunningen Gemeente Rheden, 143-78 Velp, Daalhuizerweg 12; plaatsen houten gebouw). Op de website van www.historievandaalhuizen.nl wordt deze nog genoemd.
