Jan Koppelaar en Annigje de Rouwe krijgen 7 kinderen. Daarvan overlijden er 4 op jonge leeftijd. 'Neelte Koppeler' is getuige bij de doop van Cornelis (1801). Ik neem aan dat dit Neeltje Koppelaar, een tante van Jan is. A. de Rouwe (Annigjes zus Ariaantje?) is getuige bij de doop van Klaas (1804). Zij (Ariaantje) is (ook) getuige bij de doop van Jannigje (1810). Bij de doop van Gerrit (1807) staat geen getuige in het doopboek en Maria van Vliet is getuige bij de doop van Kornelis (1808). Ik weet niet wie Maria is. Het gezin verhuist na de geboorte van Cornelis (1801) van Giessendam naar Sliedrecht en woont daar op nummer 19 (1815-1818) en op nummer 18 (1819-1826). Jan is arbeider (1815-1832). Hij kan niet schrijven. In 1829 woont Jan (inmiddels weduwnaar) in Giessendam. In 1832 woont hij weer in Sliedrecht, waar hij bij zijn dood een jaar later woont op nummer 115a.
