Charles Calvert Justice of the Peace in and for said County The following deed, possibly Deed of Conveyance, transcribed by Bart W Bronson 3rd great grand son in-law
William Harvey Harding Revisited or Journey of It must have been a difficult experience when William Harvey landed in America (New York), after being in a stowaway aboard ship from Liverpool. He would have been fifteen years old in 1840. It is not known where he met his first love, Marion Elizabeth, and it is also not known where he lived, four years prior to to his union with Elizabeth. Probably he met her in New York, because that is where she was born, she was probably a house maid. "What am I going to do now," he probably said, I need to find a mate, because with my record I won't be able to function." We do know thy bought some property and lived together in Iowa Territory. Records show a William Harvey Harding and wife Marion in the County of Fremont, Iowa in 1860. We do have two copies of Warranty Deeds showing the sale of property by the two to 1. Solomon Stout "in consideration of the sum of one hundred dollars" in 1856; 2. James Hodges "in consideration of the sum of four hundred dollars" in 1858. William's live spanned two states, New YORK and Iowa, while his generation that followed spanned eight states; California, Washington, Wyoming, Iowa, Ohio, Colorado, Idaho, and Utah. In speculation we do know that young William knew had to find somebody so in retrospect he chose the female Marion Elizabeth to help him in this new land. Bart W Bronson Third great grand son in-law
