Bl 267: Landdros Faber het aan die Goewerneur gemeld dat die burgerlike opvoeding onder die grensbewoners goed was. Op die plaas van die landbouer Zacharias De Beer bv. het hy geluister na n kind van agt wat n mooi tafelgebed opgese het. Johannes Jurgen se seuntjie van dertien kon mooi skryf, lees en ook somme maak (Verw brief van landdros Faber 17 Feb 1770 in M.R. Stellenbosch 20/2)
Bl 269/270: Op 14 September (1778) het die goewerneur die Leeurivier bereik en te perd vooruit gery. Tien dae later was hy in die Kamdebo en het hy die plase van Johannes De Beer, Johannes Van Der Walt, Barend Burgers en ander besoek...(dan word die haaglike omstandighede genoem...)
