Kaatje Knaape (de moeder van Adriana Wissel) is gestorven toen Adriana 1 jaar oud was. Later werkte Adriana op het schip van haar vader Abraham Wissel.
Door haar gedwongen huwelijk (zwanger) van Anthonius werd zij door haar familie verstoten.
