Notes about Willebrordus Johannes "Willeke" van de Lisdonk

Willem van de Lisdonk (Willeke de Jood) had een winkeltje op de Tilburgseweg (waar nu de RaboBank is gevestigd). Zijn kinderen sliepen op de open zolder en zij konden door de spleten in de dakpannen de sterren tellen. Willem van de Lisdonk reed met een paard en wagen zijn vaste klanten af om galanterieën te verkopen. Het paardentuig was op diverse plaatsen hersteld met ijzerdraad. Een trekhond (die de vallende ziekte had) trok samen met het paardje de kar.
Zijn zoon Tiest had een spraakgebrek en moest zijn vader helpen op de tour. Het kwam nogal eens voor dat hij bij zijn oom Drik Spierings de schoenmakerij binnenstormde met de uitroep "Drikoom, Drikoom, vlug unne emmer waoter want den hond leeter wir".
Willibrordus Johannes van de Lisdonk, koopman, is te Goirle geboren op 27 maart 1865 en trouwde daar op 31 augustus 1889 met Maria Theresia Eijsermans, geboren te Goirle op 9 februari 1869, dochter van de wever Hendrik Eijsermans en van Helena Maria van lersel. Zij overleed te Goirle op 20 januari 1932. Willibrordus van de Lisdonk overleed daar op 25 oktober 1944.
