Het volgende vind ik toch wel leuk.

14 november 1821 trouwt Joanna Martens (19 jaar oud) in Utrecht met Cornelis Oomens. Via haar moeder, Cornelia Gresnigt (of Grasnigt) stamt Joanna af van een
bekende Utrechtse hoveniersfamilie. In de zomer van 1866 zal zij, net als drie van haar ongetrouwde kinderen, sterven tijdens de laatste grote cholera epidemie
die in juni/juli 1866 woedde in Utrecht en daar meer dan 1.700 slachtoffers eiste.
Het echtpaar krijgt ook vijf kinderen die volwassen worden en trouwen.
Een daarvan, Anna Frederika (geboren 14 juni 1841) trouwt in 1876 in Nijmegen met Johannes Hendrikus Jansen, bakker van beroep.
Het is het tweede huwelijk van Johannes, die in 1897 overlijdt in Bad Nauheim, Duitsland. Anna Frederika overlijdt in 1916 in Goirle.
Dat zij in Goirle overlijdt is geen toeval. De enige dochter van het echtpaar, ook een Anna Frederika (18 december 1878 geboren in Nijmegen) trouwt 30 april 1902 in Nijmegen met Eduard van Puijenbroek en het echtpaar gaat daarna in Goirle wonen. En van dat echtpaar is Ruud weer de zoon.

Cornelia Gresnigt is een tante van een aangetrouwde oom van mijn grootvader. En zo ben ik in 14 stappen toch een hel, heeeel klein beetje verwant met Ruud van Puijenbroek. En via Herman Jans Gresnigt (die leefde van 1565-1625), de betoverovergrootvader van Cornelia, heb ik een hele verre gemeenschappelijke voorvader met de huidige generatie van Puijenbroek. Wie had dat verwacht? Ik niet in ieder geval!
