Deze Adam was volgens Koos van der Kaa uit Ulicoten niet helemaal zoals de rest van de familie. Hij was kapper van beroep en misschien bezocht hij de klanten aan huis.
Z'n vader krijgt in 1904 een boete van f3 of 2 dagen hechtenis, omdat"hij als hoofd van een huisgezin op 28 December 1903 te Teteringen, waarhij woonde, een door hem aldaar gehouden wordende hond als trekdier gespannen aan een voertuig heeft gebezigd, immers door zijn zoon Adam, 16 jaar oud, heeft laten bezigen en heeft nagelaten daarvan onverwijld de vereischte aangiften te doen voor de Provinciale belasting op paarden en andere trekdieren ten behoeve der Prov. N.Br over het dienstjaar1903-1904." Het ging er om, dat hij in feite twee trekhonden had en maar voor een belasting had betaald.
