Toen ze op 88-jarige leeftijd stierf woonde ze in het Burgerlijk Gasthuis op de Haagdijk. In de doopboeken van Geertuidenberg voldoet maar één kind aan alle aspecten rondom naamgeving, ouders en locatie, en dat is Emerentiana Vollaers. Hoe de verwisseling van voornaam heeft plaatsgevonden is onbekend, maar haar zuster Johanna, geboren in 1779, en de precieze leeftijdsaanduiding bij haar overlijden zijn de linken met deze Emerentiana. Dat verklaart ook hoe die voornaam in de familie terechtkomt. Ze heeft echter wel een tante, Amelia Essers, en misschien vond ze die voornaam gewoon mooier?
