Sytske Faber keert terug naar Bolsward en hertrouwt met de koperslager Poulus Wellinga. Deze neemt de smederij van een oom over (1784), welk bedrijf bij hun vertrek naar Harlingen door zijn stiefzoon Jan Douwes Faber wordt voortgezet.
