Notes about Segebertus Peter Weiteringhs

Zijn halfzus Petronella Cornelis Niclaessen is bij hem als huishoudster ingetrokken. Met uitzondering van de vier jaar die zij verbleef bij haar halfbroer Jan op 'het Munnickhof' heeft zij zich vijfendertig jaar lang van deze taak gekweten. Na het overlijden van Sebertus te Made (Geertrui-denberg)
op 30 juli 1741 was zij zijn erfgename.

Na Petronella's dood vond er op 10 februari 1755 een boedelscheiding plaats vanhet oorspronkelijke bezit van Sebertus. Alle neven en nichten erfden van hun oom en tante. Dat Sebert zijn geld niet oppotte, blijkt uit een groot aantal akten: hij leende aan diverse personen, ook aan familieleden, grote sommen gelds, soms tot bedragen van £ 1000.
Dat dit soms gevaren met zich meebracht, blijkt uit akten waarin hij zijn geld terugeiste.

Ook waren er aan zijn beroep als smid risico's verbonden, die ertoe leidden dat hij somsop ludieke wijze overging tot het innen van zijn tegoeden. Door vele ervaringen wijs geworden regelde hij zijn nalatenschap tot in de puntjes.
