Notes about Harmanus Bikkers

Harmanus werd geboren in Coevorden en was daar boerenarbeider. Hij kwam naar Goirle omdat hij daar als soldaat naar toegezonden werd voor de mobilisatie tijdens de eerste wereldoorlog. Zijn vrouw Petronella ( Pietje) Eijsermans had een winkeltje in huishoudelijke artikelen en snoep. Het winkeltje was geliefd bij veel Goirlese kinderen, want als je voor een cent snoep mocht kopen kwam je vaak bij Pietje Eijsermans terecht. Soms hadden mensen losse centen nodig. Ook dan kon je bij Pietje Eijsermans terecht, want voor een dubbeltje kreeg je dan 9 losse centen.
