Op 1 november 1909 is Anna Tra in het klooster getreden bij de congregatie Zusters van Liefde in Schijndel. Haar kloosternaam werd Maria Franciscus. In 1910 werd zij naar het klooster in Tongeren (Eindhoven) gezonden. Op 11 september 1911 ging zij voor vijf jaar naar het klooster in Boekel (dat inmiddels is opgeheven). Op 2 oktober 1916 kwam zij terug naar het moederhuis in Schijndel. Daar is zuster Maria Franciscus reeds op 38-jarige leeftijd overleden
