Bij trouw/1786, J:M:, 34 jaar, geboren en wonende te Goirle, geassist. met zijn broeder Adriaen van Besouw die instond voor bruidegoms moeder consent.
Het echtpaar Gerardus van Besouw-van Dun woont op huisnummer 49, cadastraal bekend onder nummer B02-391. Gerardus is hiervan eigenaar tot aan zijn dood in 1829.Zie document B02cad387-394 om de juiste ligging van zijn huis in de Kerkstraat te Goirle tegenover de kerk te bekijken.Dit echtpaar is nauw gelieerd aan het echtpaar Laurentius van Dun-Besouw omdat een broer en zuster van Besouw zijn gehuwd met de zuster en broer van Dun. Zij wonen ook vlak bij elkaar.
In 1811 is hij marchand te Goirle.

Gerard van Besouw behoort in 1808 te Goirle tot de hoogst aangeslagenen in de belasting, herhaaldelijk treedt hij op als geldschieter en in 1820 wordt hij genoemd bij de notabelste inwoners van het dorp.38)
Hij overleed te Goirle als particulier in 1829. Over zijn aktiviteiten als ballenhandelaar is weinig bekend, mogelijk in verband hiermee wordt in 1807 een paspoort verstrekt aan de vijfenvijftigjarige
Gerard van Besouw, "groot 5 voet, 6 duijm (dit is ongeveer 1.68m) , blauwe oogen en dragende een bruine paruik", voor het ondernemen van een reis naar Frankrijk.
