Deze Gerlacus PELETIER, en waarschijnlijk al zijn vader, is de familienaam RIBBIUS PELETIER gaan gebruiken, evenals zijn kinderen. Uit: sigarenfabrikage in Utrecht ( http://www.cbg.nl/infoteksten/info_werk.htm ): De Utrechtse sigarenfabrikanten Ribbius Pelletier waren in 1859 de eersten in Nederland die een fabriek oprichtten speciaal voor vrouwelijk personeel. De fabricage van sigaren was toen nog niet gemechaniseerd zodat goedkope arbeidskrachten een belangrijke rol speelden in het productieproces. ' Welnu gaat naar de Koninklijke Sigaren-fabriek aan den Geslotensteen, spreekt daar met den Heer Ribbius Peletier of met diens broeder, brengt hun uwe leergrage meisjes; geen eigenbelang is hun doel, maar God, die hen boven velen zegende, deed hierdoor bij hen den wensch onstaan om voor velen nuttig te kunnen zijn.' In 1859 trad de dertienjarige Naatje Blommers bij de firma Ribbius Pelletier in dienst. Het arbeidscontract omvatte zesentwintig artikelen waaraan zij zich strikt moest houden. De werktijd was bepaald op tien uur per dag, van acht uur 's-morgens tot één uur 's-middags en van drie uur 's-middags tot acht uur 's-avonds.
