He is married to Jaaptje Koelikamp.
They got married on October 24, 1896 at Uithuizen , he was 18 years old.
Enno van Dam was born in 1878 in the country village Uithuizermeeden in the northern part of the Dutch northeastern province Groningen, the sixth of ten children and nine sons of the 37 years aged day-laborer Freerk van Dam and Trijntje Doornbos, probably named for one of his uncles. Enno was baptized on 29 September 1878 at the DRC of Uithuizermeeden.
The 18 years aged day-laborer Enno van Dam married on 24 October 1896 in the country village Uithuizen, a few miles west of Uithuizermeeden, to the three years older servant maid Jaaptje Koelikamp, born in Usquert, a few miles west of Uithuizen.
On 25 April 1911 Enno van Dam (32 y, farmer), his wife Jaaptje (35 y) and their children Freerk (13 y), Derk (11 y), Trijntje (9 y), Jacob (7 y), Geertje (4 y), Bouke (2 y), Bonne (1 y 6 m) and Klaas (2 m), all born in Uithuizen, arrived on the SS Potsdam at the port of New York, Ellis Island. Their last residence place in the Netherlands was Uithuizen and their destination is Grand Rapids, Michigan where his "brother-in-law" Derk Molenkamp is living. Derk is in fact a nephew of his wife Jaaptje, son of Klaas Molenkamp and Jaaptje's sister Hindriktje Koelikamp. Derk emigrated in 1910 and 1913 with his younger brothers Jurjen and Jacob Molenkamp from Uithuizen to Grand Rapids. It looks that the Molenkamps maybe attracted Enno's family to the USA.
His wife Janney Van Dam died on 15 March 1914 at the age of 38 years in the city of Wyoming, Clyde Park, about 5 miles southwest of Grand Rapids, Kent County, Michigan.
On 11 August 1925 Ernest VanDam resided in Grand Rapids when his son Jacob married. On 21 December 1925 the machinist Enno Van Dam arrived from New York on the SS Mauretania of the Cunard Line at Southampton, England for transit to Rotterdam. Because his mentioned age of 47 years is exactly correct, it's not unlikely that he is the Enno van Dam here concerned.
Hereafter not any trace of Enno was found yet (until July 2013). It is said that Enno Van Dam died in 1958 in Grand Rapids.
