Hij is als rijksambtenaar te Maasnielop 06-11-1869 getrouwd met Maria Catharina Kirchner, geboren te Vaals op 16-11-1840 als dochter van Willem Kirchner en Barbara Hubertina Willems. In het bevolkingsregister van Asten over de periode 1879-1890 wonen zij vanaf april 1878 in het huis nog zonder huizingnummer:
