Notes about Gerardus Dijst

Gerardus wordt voor de Militie gekeurd en geschikt geacht. Hij is lang 1.71m. Op wordt 16-01-1913 ingedeeld bij het 7e Regiment Infanterie. Op 01-08-1919 wordt ij ingedeeld bij de Landweer. Op 01-10-1933 verlaat hij de Militie met een bewijs van ontslag wegens diensteindiging.
Uit Politierapporten 1940-1945: Op 01-03-1944 rijdt Gerardus met een bakfiets en daarop een trapnaaimachine over de Admiraal de Ruijterweg en wilde bij kruising met de van Gentstraat keren. Uit tegenovergestelde richting komt een Duitse vrachtwagen van de Wehrmacht. De Duitse vrachtwagen stopt in eerste instantie en Gerardus begint te keren. Op dat moment trekt de vrachtwagen weer op en rijdt tegen de bakfiets aan. De trapnaaimachine wordt hierdoor beschadigd. Er zijn twee getuigen, die het voorval bevestigen. De bestuurder van de vrachtauto wil aan de politieambtenaar zijn naam niet opgeven en verwijst naar het kenteken en nummer van de vrachtauto.
