    Toedracht:
    De terugkerende schuit bleef voor Scheveningen te lang in de branding waarna de mast brak. Een hoog oplopende golf stortte op het vaartuig neer waardoor het kantelde. De bemanning sloeg overboord en verdronk. Het vaartuig dreef op het strand ten zuiden van de vuurtoren aan en werd later ter plekke als wrak gesloopt.
    * Cornelis- en Maarten Mos zijn broers en zoons van schipper Pieter Mos
    * Pieter Mos: op 26 maart spoelde op het strand onder ?s-Gravenzande het lijk van de schipper aan en werd in die plaats begraven.
    * Cornelis Mos: Op 14 juli spoelde op het strand onder Wassenaar het lichaam aan. Op de 16e juli begaven de nabestaanden van de zwaar getroffen familie Mos zich naar Wassenaar. Bijgestaan door de oud-weesvader A. Vrolijk werd het lichaam aldaar ter aarde besteld.
    * Albert van der Zwan: het is niet met zekerheid vastgesteld of hij wel tot deze bemanning behoorde. Hij kan evengoed tot de bemanning van ??n van de andere schuiten hebben behoord die op februari en maart 1883 vergingen.
