Pieter werd op 18 april 1929 gekeurd voor de militaire dienst en werd goedgekeurd. Hij woonde Uithoornstraat 13 III, was loodgieter en had 6 klassen lager onderwijs en 1 jaar avond-tekenschool doorlopen. Zijn lengte was 1 m. en 750 mm. Hij had weliswaar platvoeten, maar zonder klachten. Zijn voorkeur ging in de eerste plaats uit naar de wielrijders en ten tweede naar de onbereden artillerie. Het advies van de keuringsraad was hieraan gelijk. Hij werd ingedeeld bij het 7e Regiment Infanterie. In diensttreding op 17 februari 1930. Opmerkingen: 3 juli 1930 met groot verlof; 8 september 1934 met groot verlof.

Op 8 juli 1941 werd aan Pieter een persoonsbewijs uitgereikt, nr. 273801.
