    onderscheiden". Eveneens zijn hem posthuum uitgereikt een Certificate of Service van
    Fieldmarshall Montgomery en het Verzetsherdenkingskruis. In Den Haag is in 1984 aan de Denneweg
    in een muur van een poort welke toegang geeft tot nr. 74 ter nagedachtenis van de verzetsstrijder
    Sieuwert de Koe een plaquette onthuld.

Notes about Sieuwerd Salomon Salomons (Siewert) de Koe

Was al spoedig bij spionnage-groep betrokken waarvan hij de leiding op zich nam. Werd 17-12-1943
in Den Haag gearresteerd en door het Höhere Kriegsgericht te Utrecht op 10 juni 1944 ter dood
veroordeeld, waarbij de rechter verklaarde dat hij "de Duitsche oorlogsvoering onschatbare schade
had berokkend". H.M. de Koningin sprak persoonlijk Hare groote waardeering voor zijn werk uit.
Hij werd gefusilleerd op 22 juni 1944 (Ook de datum 21 juni doorgekregen).
Was medewerker en later leider van een groep die gegevens verzamelde over het Duitse leger en deze
gegevens naar Engeland seinde. Door onvoorzichtigheid van een medewerker was de aandacht van de
S.D. op hem gevallen, nadat hij gedurende anderhalf jaar dit zeer belangrijke spionnagewerk met
grote nauwkeurigheid had gedaan. Hij heeft een half jaar in Haren gevangen gezeten, van 5-21 juni
in Utrecht, en is op 21 juni 1944 na vonnis van het Kriegsgericht gefusilleerd.
