Niet alleen was het graf op het Oldehoofsterkerkhof "voor luiden van zyne bedieninge en hunne familie" afgezonderd, maar ook konden pas na langdurig getouwtrek tussen de buren en justitie kistdragers worden geregeld. Bovendien kwam nog eens een uitzonderlijk groot aantal nieuwsgierigen op de begrafenis af.
