    Edel Moogende Heer en Mevrouw

    Dewijl het den vrijmagtigen God den Heere van leven en dood behaagt heeft mijn tederst Geliefde Echtgenoot Anna Hendriks Snijder op den 12 Maart de klok van twaalf uuren aan een beroert van sestien weken in den oudedom van Twee en sestig Jaaren en ses maanden en dertien dagen uyt mijne liefde armen weg te rukken en soo ik hoope in Zijne Zalige Heerlijkheyd over gebragt. Een slag die mij aller gevoeligst treft dat het is de Heere welke het doet en Wiens doen Majestijt en Heerlijkheyd is, wiens ik ook wensche te zwijgen en Hem alle mijne belangen toe te vertrouwen. Ik heb het van mijne pligt geacht Uedele hiervan kennisse te geven niet twijfelende of Uedele zult in mijne regtmaatige droefheid wel eenig deel willen neemen terwijl ik van harte wensche dat de Almagtige Uedele lang voor deeze en andere smertelijke gevallen bewaare.
