Notes about Cornelis Nicolaas "Nick" Cardinaal

In 1963 begonnen bij GM in Antwerpen en meegewerkt aan de oprichting van het GM Used Car (OK Used
Cars) programma van GM. Dit kwam zo omdat in Zweden een dergelijk programma was gestart en door
mijn kennis van de Deense taal ik dit programma kon vertalen naar Nederlands. Na circa een klein
jaar werd ik overgeplaatst naar de service afdeling en kreeg een technische buitendienst functie
(en auto) waarbij ik in het Vlaams taal gebied de GM dealers bezocht om technische en garantie
technische assistentie te verlenen aan de Belgische dealer organisatie. Tot augustus 1971 bleef
ik in Antwerpen werkzaam. Mijn functie veranderde na verloop van tijd waarbij ik de Service
Promotie kant opging. In deze tijd werkte ik om de Belgische dealer werplaats organisatie te
moderniseren. Mijn werkplek dekte toen ook het Franstalige deel van Belgie. Ook specialiseerde ik
toen al in de technische rapportage aan de GM hoofdfabrieken in Amerika, Engeland en Duitsland.
Ik had veel contacten met de produktie afdelingen van de assemblage fabrieken in Antwerpen. Op
verzoek van GM werd ik overgeplaatst door GM naar de vestiging van GM in Rotterdam waar ik op
01-08-1995 in dienst trad.
