Notes about Gerrit Verdonk

Assendelft Gerrit Verdonk ca. 80 jaar. Oud visserman Verdonk bijgenaamd De Ouwe Pluut te Nauerna.
Deze dronk graag een stevige borrel en was dan ook zelden nuchter, soms kon hij zijn boot niet meer goed vinden en vond men hem slapend/hangende over z'n looppplank.
Eens op een koude winterochtend hoorden omwonende hulpgeroep vanaf de boot, toen ze gingen kijken bleek dat de man z'n boot niet meer kon verlaten:
Hij had het zo koud gehad dat hij de loopplank naar de wal had verstookt, ook had hij veel last van muizen.
Als hij lag te slapen liepen zij soms over zijn gezicht en dan joeg hij ze weg met: nauw is het wel genoeg!
Het woord "Pluut" had verschillende betekenissen: De vissers gaven de benaming aan ondermaatse en/of nietverkoopbare vis.
Een "Pluut"was ook een roeiboot met een wat lomp model.
