      Opmerking van Paul Smis:
      Nederland's Patriciaat (jaargang 11, 1920, blz. 293) laat Claas Veeckens geboren worden in Leiden op 17-09-1619. In het doopregister van Leiden heb ik daar geen bevestiging voor gevonden.
      In het doopregister van de Oude Kerk te Amsterdam is Claas ingeschreven op 22-09-1619.
      In februari 1620 verkrijgt vader Jan Pietersz Veeckens het poorterschap van Amsterdam. Het ligt niet voor de hand, maar het is niet onmogelijk dat hij in september 1619, met de pasgeboren Claes, van Leiden naar Amsterdam is gereisd. Zo kan het dan komen dat Claes in Leiden is geboren op 17 september en in Amsterdam gedoopt op 22 september 1619.

      Nederland's Patriciaat vermeldt als datum voor zijn begrafenis maart 1656. Ik heb geen inschrijving in de index op het begraafregister in Amsterdam kunnen vinden

      Uit het tweede huwelijk werd o. a. geboren: Claas Veeckens, geb. te Amsterdam 17 Sept. 1619, overl. aldaar in Maart 1656. Hij huwde te Amsterdam 20 Augustus1641 met Aaltje Teunis, overl. te Leiden 25 Aug. 1678.

      Aanvulling van Paul C. Smis:
      In de DTB begraven van Amsterdam heb ik de begrafenis van Claes Veeckens (1619-1656) niet aangetroffen. Ook niet in het register Boetes op beraven buiten de stad.
