gebeurtenis: Onzeker Volgens overlevering van mijn vader (Adrianus Marinus van Tilburg, hij is erg stellig hier in) hebben er drie broers van Tilburg in de slag bij Waterloo gevochten (18 juni 1815) en wel tegen elkaar. 2 aan de Franse of 2 aan de geallieerde kant. De vrouw van zijn vader, mijn oma middeldo rp heeft in een woede aanval of om mijn opa te pesten de papieren met h et bewijs weggegooid. Mijn opa en oma zijn vermoedelijk niet uit liefde m et elkaar getrouwd. Mijn neef Herman van Tilburg zoon van de broer van mijn vader die ook Her man van Tilburg heet, heeft mij ooit een foto laten zien met daarop een m an met een medaille op zijn borst. Hij beweerde toen dat dit een van die van Tilburgen was. Opvallend is dat persoon Hermanus op 10 mei 1816 vrijgesteld is van milit aire dienst, blijkbaar om te trouwen. Dit is na de slag bij Waterloo. Rond de slag was Hermanus Bartholomeus 25 jaar.

gebeurtenis: Onzeker De drie foto's waarover ik beschik van Hermanus Bartholomeus en zijn vrouw, die van zijn zoon Hermanus Josephus en die van zijn schoondochter Elis abteh Schram zijn allen bij de zelfde fotowinkel gemaakt, namelijk W.G. K uyer en zonen - hofphotografen in Amsterdam. Ik vermoed dat die van Herma nus Bartholomeus en zijn vrouw na 27-06-1865 is gemaakt. Dit vermoeden ba seer ik op het feit dat Hermanus een medaille op zijn jas heeft geprikt, als oud strijder bekend heeft gestaan, op het gegeven dat mijn vader er v an overtuigd was dat er drie broers van Tilburg waren die aan de slag b ij Waterloo hebben meegedaan, de medaille het zilveren eereteeken betre ft dat alle oud strijders van de slag bij Waterloo (ongeveer 5000 van de 30.000 waren er toen over) op of na 27-06-1865 is uitgereikt.
