    Niels is overleden aan een gesprongen slagader, een aneurysma zat er, wat hij niet wist. Hij werd altijd wel extra gecheckt op zijn hart, maar dat aneurysma had niemand zien zitten.
    Niels’ dood was van het ene op het andere moment, in ons café, waar hij werk van studenten zat na te kijken. Ik zou ook ergens binnen een uur komen, ik zat de rouwkaarten van zijn moeder nog te bekijken, die 5 weken eerder was begraven. Echt absurd, zo vlak na elkaar. Maar het gebeurde in een paar minuten tijd, precies op het moment dat ik binnenkwam. Daar ben ik nog altijd zo blij mee! Want daardoor kon ik bij hem zijn. - Marja Delfos 11/1/2013
