Waarschijnlijk werd hij ca 1740 in een mennoniet gezin te Terhorne geboren. Ten tijde van zijn huwelijk woonde hij in Terhorne en was hij kofschipper, grootschipper. (1771-1774 op "Hoop ende Liefde", 1780 "Jonge Anne", 1784 "Drie Gebroeders").In 1783 was hij volgens het testament van zijn moeder curator, samen met zijn broer Jacob Annes, eveneens grootschipper, over zijn innocente zuster Ymkje Annes. Ook was hij in 1783 erfgenaam van zijn broer Lourens Annes, die op zee is overleden. Bauke overleed 1789 in Portugal.
