    De familietak welke is onderzocht, vindt zijn oorsprong omstreeks 1740 in de Achterhoek (gemeente Aalten) waar zoon Gerrit Jan in 1765 is geboren. Hij is noordelijk verhuisd, want is in Usselo (gem. Lonneker) overleden.
    Na zijn huwelijk is ook hij weer wat noordelijk getogen, wan zijn zoon werd in Buurse (gem. Haaksbergen) geborenen.
    Daar verblijft de familie grotendeels totdat Gerrit Jan in 1898 in Ambt Ommen gaat trouwen.
    In 1969 gaat Antje Geeske trouwen met Frederik Timmerman (ook uit Ommen) en gaan in Amersfoort wonen; hun band met Ommen blijft echter, want ze verblijven daar veelvuldig.
    Naam:
    te Kiefte is een zogenoemde "adresnaam" en duidt op bewoning van een boerderij genaamd Te Kiefte.
    Een andere mogelijkheid zou zijn een verwijzing naar een Kiefenbos of Kiefte is een Oostnederlands woord voor Kievit. [BRON: Meertens Instituut]
