FOREWORD
I have noticed that while completing my family tree, several individuals appear twice, sometimes under their (later) family name, sometimes under their patronymic, and sometimes because family names were written differently in various records, giving the impression that they were different people. I also often ended up listing the parents. So now I am busy trying to determine which individuals might be listed twice and correcting this, also to review the mentioned parents, because it often turns out that their relatives are already part of the family tree; fine-tuning, so to speak.Sometimes this leads to merging and/or deleting individuals, sometimes to expanding with ancestors in order to establish a connection.
RECOMMENDATIONI would like to recommend visitors of this family tree to conduct further research into the background of individuals and/or families. A pleasant activity that can bring a lot of joy and a Family history can, so to speak, be brought to life. For this, you might for example search for Notarial Deeds, Transfer Deeds, etc. Death certificates can also provide insight into the addresses where family members passed away. Enjoy this! ORIGIN Martinus Leyenhorst (Helsinki, Finland) once came to gather information about "our" branch of the family, which sparked an interest in genealogy and was partly the basis for compiling the Batavier Family Tree.
CONTENT In this family tree, you will find my ancestors, their children, grandchildren, etc. At the request of family and/or acquaintances, I am constantly working to expand this family tree, including the ancestors of married-in family members and their connections. As a result, this family tree now includes dozens of other families in addition to the Batavier family. Essentially, all of them are independent (sub) family trees, which nevertheless all have a relationship with each other in some way and ultimately (indirectly) also with the Batavier family. Those relationships They are of course not all visible, because a large number of them pass through people who are still alive. I have mainly compiled those (sub)family trees by recording the ancestors starting from one person. This generally means that I limited myself to tracing only the direct-line ancestors; there will therefore be many brothers and sisters included for whom I only mentioned the partner.
REMARKABLE:
After a tip from Jeffrey P. Lieuwen and great help from Everardus Rollema, it turned out that grandmother Fennetje Blooi is a descendant of Filinski (Veleijnske) and also appears in the register of descendants of Clara van Sparwoude. Through that family, a line (no, not a direct line!) can be drawn to the well-known painter Rembrandt Harmensz. van Rijn. For convenience, let's start with Fennetje Blooi, who married Arnoldus Batavier in 1888. She was the daughter of Wouter Blooi, son of Fennetje Hendrikse Blooi, who was unmarried at the time of Wouter’s birth. Fennetje Hendrikse appears to be the daughter of Hendrik Janze Veleijnske. The family name Blooi only comes into play with the birth of Wouter. Following the Veleijnske family branch, we see that in 1680 Christoffel Veleijnske married Maaijken Willems van Eeden, whose parents were Willem Roelofsen van Eeden and Dirksken Claessen de Bont. Through this de Bont branch, we reach Jannetje Willems de Bont, who around 1545 married Claas Andries Huigensz. He was the son of Andries Huigens and Geertruid Cornelissen van Delft. Geertruid had previously been married to Mees Dirksz. Their son, Cornelis Meesz, married Reimtje Cornelisdr van Bancken. The daughter of this Cornelis and Reimtje, Elisabeth Cornelisse (van Tettenrode), married Willem Andries van Zuijtbrouck, whose daughter Neeltje Willems van Zuijtbrouck married Harmen Gerritz van Rhijn, the father of the famous painter Rembrandt van Rijn.
SOURCES In principle, the source is also mentioned for all events. These source details are all from the archives involved. For recently deceased individuals, sources may not be cited; this information then comes directly from the respective family. I have gratefully incorporated additions provided by third parties; where I could not find a source myself, I have (of course) cited the person who provided the information as the source.
