    Raymond Berengarius I van Barcelona (1025 - 1076), de Oude, was een zoon van Berengarius Raymond I van Barcelona en diens echtgenote Sancha van Castilië. Hij volgde in 1035 zijn vader op als graaf van Barcelona.

    Tijdens zijn bewind verwierf Barcelona onbetwistbaar een leidende positie in Catalonië. Raymond leverde strijd tegen de Moren. Van nu werd Barcelona een maritieme macht in het Middellandse Zeegebied en verwierf Barcelona ook invloed en gebied ten noorden van de Pyreneeën (Carcassonne en Razès). Belangrijk is ook dat onder zijn bewind de Usatici, een codificatie van de Catalaanse wetgeving, opgestart werd en - voor het eerst in West-Europa- een systeem van Godsvrede werd ingevoerd. Raymond startte verder de Romaanse Kathedraal van Barcelona, ter vervanging van de vroegere basiliek.
