Ze woonden aan de Hengelosestraat 30. Hij was onderwijzer aan de Nutsschool. In Oldenzaal zijn nog drie kinderen geboren. In januari 1939 vertrok het gezin naar de Van Galenstraat 21 te Apeldoorn.
Hij is op 25 juni 1945 omgekomen bij het opruimen van munitie. Bij het vervoeren van de munitie werden zeven personen door een ontploffing gedood. Begraven te Deventer.
