Notes about Prof. Dr. Jan Woltjer
Vooraanstaande onderwijsdeskundige van de ARP-Eerste-Kamerfractie aan het begin van de twintigste eeuw. Van geboorte Groninger. Begon zijn loopbaan als onderwijzer en was later rector van het Gereformeerd Gymnasium in Amsterdam. Na instelling van de Vrije Universiteit hoogleraar pedagogiek en Latijn en Grieks en in 1903 door Kuyper benoemd tot voorzitter van de zgn. Ineenschakelingscommissie over het onderwijs. Ook zijn zoon was hoogleraar, onderwijsdeskundige en Eerste-Kamerlid.
Rector van het Gereformeerd Gymnasium in Amsterdam. Na instelling van de Vrije Universiteit hoogleraar pedagogiek en Latijn en Grieks en in 1903 door Kuyper benoemd tot voorzitter van de zgn. Ineenschakelingscommissie over het onderwijs. Ook zijn zoon was hoogleraar, onderwijsdeskundige en Eerste-Kamerlid.
