Jan trouwde, Adriana van Wijk uit Rijswijk. In 1610 bij het overlijden van zijn vader meerderjarig en krijgt hij een derde deel van de Weerd in Dwarswijk te leen. (In 1639 verkoopt hij daarvan de helft, maar hij koopt het in 1645 weer terug.)
