Is Cornelia Johansdr. de dochter van Johan Jansz. van Spithoven? Dat er een familierelatie bestaat bewijst de overdracht van de 4 morgen land van Agatha aan Cornelis Dirks van spithoven in 1594. Uit de patronimica is echter geen verband op te maken. Tenzij met behulp van de volgende hypothese: De oudst bekende 'van Spithoven' is Dirk Gijsberts maar deze wordt zonder achternaam genoemd. Het is mogelijk dat zijn vrouw, Cornelia Johansdr. de achternaam 'van Spithoven' . Al hun kinderenzijn wel bekend met de achternaam 'van Spithoven'.
