Notes about Willem de Pater

Willem koopt in 1727 als weduwnaar van Maeijken Spaan uit de boedel van haar ouders een korenmolen te Willige Langerak. Hij woont dan samen met Bastiaan de Hooglander, broer van Volkje met wie hij in 1729 als gehuwd voorkomt in het lidmatenregister van Willige Langerak. In 1732 nemen Willem en Volkje een extra hypotheek. Daarna gaat het goed, want er worden meerdere stukken land gekocht.
Dan keert het tij. In 1756 wordt Willem op heterdaad betrapt bij het smokkelen van 2 zakken tarwemeel. Hij wordt veroordeeld na een proces in Schoonhoven tot het betalen van een boete of verbanning uit de staten van Holland en Westfriesland. Hij kiest voor het laatste. Ze vertrekken naar Beesd.
