Hugh Godwin Sherren died of typhus on 28th February 1920, when he was 37. He was a Major, mentioned in dispatches, in the Royal Army Medical Corps. He is buried at Haidar Pasha Cemetery, Turkey.

He was born in Dover but his mother later moved to 31 Grange Road, Ramsgate. He was brother to Arthur
