She was born Feb. 29, 1928 (leap year), in West Union to Roy and Leona Sherren. She married Charles B. Cain July 23, 1950, in Hawkeye. Her children are Jack and Mary Lynn Cain and Bob and Connie Christiansen, all of Shell Rock. She has three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. One granddaughter is deceased.
