Thomas was living with his grandparents at Galton in 1851. In 1857 he received a 200 pound legacy in the will of his uncle James Sherren. In 1861 he was at ' Laurial' Cottage, Chardstock. Census reads," Thomas Henry Sherren, assistant, single 22 private pupil/pupil teacher born Wells.
The probate calendar has these details: 4 January 1877. Administration of the effects of Thomas Henry Sherren, late of Dorchester, gentleman, a bachelor, who died 18 September 1876 at Dorchester, was proved at the Principal Registry to James Gear Sherren of Stinsford, farmer, the brother and one of the next of kin. Effects under 450 pounds.
His executors were John Drew of Wareham, plus Henry and Alice Wright and the probate was granted on 17 January 1903 to William Henry Wright, gentleman and Alice Mary Wright, spinster.
