Effie Irene McMurphy Gibson, 57, of Moultrie, died Sunday, Jan. 15, 2012, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.
Born March 4, 1954, in Moultrie, she was the daughter of Mary L. McMurphy of Moultrie and the late James W. McMurphy. She was a homemaker and member of Ione Freewill Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Larry McMurphy
In addition to her mother, survivors include her husband Jack Gibson of Moultrie; sons, Michael Wayne Gibson and wife Barbara of Pavo and Derrick Gibson of Moultrie; brothers, Ronnie McMurphy and wife Kathy, Harold McMurphy and wife Debbie, Gary McMurphy, Craig McMurphy and wife Dana and Michael McMurphy, all of Moultrie; sisters, Betty Pope and husband B.B. of Moultrie, Carolyn Reynolds of Moultrie, Wilma Williams and husband Randall of Moultrie, Bobbie McCook of Moultrie, Diane Brooks of Norman Park and Virginia Meads and husband Joey of Norman Park; and one grandchild, Haley Irene Gibson.
