MURPHY, Wiley “Gene”, age 88 of Plant City, Florida, entered into eternal rest on September 3, 2015. He was a longtime member of Midway Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon, Sunday School Superintendent, RA Leader, and training union director.

He loved his family and his church, and he enjoyed witnessing for his Lord. He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Louise Linton Murphy; daughters, Loretta Norris (Lonnie) of Mulberry, Linda Williams (Clifton) of Lee, and Kathy Carter (Bob) of North Carolina; grandchildren, Don, Dean (Lisa), Shane (Pam), Brent (Michele), Jessica, and Kyle; great-grandchildren, Nathan, Hannah, Cheyenne, Bryce, and Brock; and many other family and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, September 8 at 11:00 A.M. at Hopewell Funeral Home, 6005 CR 39 S, Plant City, where the family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 A.M. Committal to follow at Hopewell Memorial Gardens, Plant City. The family extends a special thanks to the loving and dedicated workers at the Health Care Center of
