Leroy Murphy,96, of Rest - A - While Nursing Home died Thursday, November 5, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center after an extended illness.

Funeral services will be held at 4 P. M. on Saturday, November 7 at Lakeside Assembly of God, Reverand Roy Hicks will be officiating, assisted by Reverand Shelvie Sumerlin.

Burial will be at Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery.

Jack McDurman, Glen Kilgore, Chick Croft, Steve Sanders, Scottie Sumerlin, and Marvin Croft will serve as pallbearers.

Born Mar. 18, 1902, in Thomas County, Mr. Murphy was the son of Ransom and Annie McMurphy.

He was a retired cook from Gold Leaf Restaurant, and he was well known in the community as a great supporter of all sports, where he made many friends.

He was a member of the Assemblies of God.

Survivors include four sons, Clayton Murphy, and wife Javonna, of Moultrie, Albert Bufford and wife Patty of Cotton, Glyn Murphy of Plant City, Florida, and Gene Murphy and wife Louise of Plant City, Florida; five daughters Lucille Kilgore of Dunlap, Tennessee, Jearldean Kilgore of Moultrie, Louise McMurphy of Pelham, Ernestine Dollar and husband Slim of Plant City, Florida and Eva Doucet and husband of Lake Charles, Louisiana;42 grandchildren,48 great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren.

Harrel - Faircloth will be in charge of arrangements.
