Mieczysław Jan urodzony 16 maja 1924 r. uczęszczał przed drugą wojną światową do szkoły powszechnej.‚a w pobliskiej wsi Bielawki. Gospodarstwo objął w posiadanie napływowy Niemiec. Pod koniec 1944 r., jako żołnierz przebywał przez pewien czas w Danii, niedaleko miasta Aalborg. Pewnego razu przyjechał z wojska do rodziny na krótki urlop wypoczynkowy. W czasie tego urlopu, w mundurze żołnierza niemieckiego poszedł na wywłaszczone gospodarstwo w Rożentalu. W nie wyjaśnionych okolicznościach pobił się z tamtejszym Niemcem, który wezwał na pomoc żandarmerię wojskową. Mieczysław został aresztowany i odtransportowany do swojej jednostki wojskowej. Wkrótce odbył się proces przed sądem wojskowym. Obrońca wojskowy wnosił przed sądem o uniewinnienie oskarżonego motywując, że Mieczysław powinien za ten czyn otrzymać nagrodę, a nie karę, bo będąc napadnięty w mundurze wojskowym słusznie bronił „honoru munduru żołnierza niemieckiego”. Argument ten był na tyle skuteczny, że oskarżony został całkowicie uniewinniony. ji i 8 czerwca 1947 r. zakończył służbę wojskową w Polskich Siłach Zbrojnych pod Dowództwem Brytyjskim. cji tej decyzji stanęła Mary McConnochie z Glasgow – córka w której pracował do czasu przejścia na emeryturę.agranicznego w Londynie i następnie w 1966 r. i w 1970 r. na Uniwersytecie w Londynie studia w zakresie nauk ekonomicznych i spraw międzynarodowych. odtąd żyli w separacji. Mary wróciła do Szkocji, a Mieczysław pozostał w Londynie. w Polsce.
