Profession: Leen werkte bij een bloembollenkweker en was een bekwaam ziekzoeker. Bij zijn huis aan de Lisserdijk had hij een trekkasje, zodat hij deels ook voor eigen rekening tulpen kon trekken. Ook hier sloeg de crisis zwaar toe, Leen werd ontslagen en het gezin verhuisde naar de Veldstraat in Lisse. Na een aantal jaren als los werkman, werd hij schuurbaas bij Sam Bijvoet in de bloembollenexport. Met het baantje van ziekenfondsbode ernaast was het geen vetpot, maar werden de tijden weer beter. Later is hij, nadat ziekenfondsbodes overbodig werden, als bloembollencommisionair doorgegaan. Vol trots ging hij op de Solex naar de Noord om bloembollen te verkopen. Vanwege zijn gezondheid moest hij met werken in de schuur stoppen, maar samen met zoon Johan heeft hij nog een aardige bloembollenhandel opgebouwd..
