Mozes had in ieder geval drie kinderen. Kort voor de oorlog zei Mozes de Haas dat hij zelfmoord zou plegen als Nederland door Duitsland zou worden bezet. Hij heeft dat gedaan door uit een raam van het Amstelhotel in Amsterdam te springen. Toevoeging van een bezoeker van de website http://www.communityjoodsmonument.nl Uit de begraafboeken van de joodse begraafplaats te Rotterdam is bekend dat Mozes de Haas aldaar is begraven..
